Meet Sommy: Creating Space for Growth, Healing, and Self-Discovery
Somawina “Sommy” Ogbechie is a counseling student currently pursuing his Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Lamar University while working toward becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Passionate about emotional wellness and personal development, Sommy is dedicated to helping individuals feel supported, understood, and empowered throughout their journey.
Known for his warm personality and approachable nature, Sommy believes therapy should be a space where people can show up authentically and feel comfortable being themselves. He values connection, trust, and creating an environment where clients can explore challenges, build confidence, and discover their strengths along the way.
Sommy’s perspective is shaped by his genuine curiosity about people and experiences. He enjoys meeting new people, traveling, and spending time on the golf course, all of which contribute to the open-minded and compassionate approach he brings into his work with others. He is passionate about supporting individuals as they navigate life transitions, healing, self-growth, and becoming the best versions of themselves.
As he continues growing in the mental health field, Sommy is honored to walk alongside clients with empathy, encouragement, and authenticity.
