Meet Jasmine: Your Culturally Competent Therapist
Jasmine is a master’s-level therapist intern who provides culturally competent mental health care to both the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) community and hearing individuals. She is passionate about creating a safe and empowering therapeutic space where every client feels genuinely seen, heard, and respected.
Currently studying at Gallaudet University, Jasmine is gaining hands-on experience providing individual and group therapy to clients. Her approach integrates trauma-informed care with cultural humility, showing deep respect for the diverse identities within both the Deaf and hearing communities. As a fluent ASL user, she is able to connect deeply with and support clients who use sign language.
With over a decade of experience as an ASL educator and more than five years working as a community and educational interpreter in the Houston, Texas area, Jasmine brings a well-rounded, linguistically, and culturally informed perspective to her clinical work.
She is committed to bridging communication gaps, advocating for equity in mental health services, and offering affirming support that honors each client’s unique experiences and identity.
If you or someone you know is looking for a therapist who provides culturally and linguistically informed care, we’d love for you to connect with our team.
