Meet Charlene: Your Compassionate and Culturally Aware Therapist
Born and raised in Jacksonville, North Carolina, Charlene brings over 25 years of experience in the mental health field and a deep passion for helping others heal, grow, and thrive. She is dedicated to creating a safe, supportive space where individuals from all backgrounds feel seen, valued, and empowered to live authentically.
Charlene earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from North Carolina Central University (Eagle Pride!) and went on to complete her master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Webster University. Currently, she is pursuing her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision at Walden University, where she continues to expand her expertise in leadership, research, and the advancement of the counseling profession.
Charlene’s experience spans working with adolescents, adults, and families navigating a variety of concerns, including trauma, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and life transitions. Her clinical approach integrates empathy, cultural awareness, and collaboration—helping clients explore their experiences, strengthen emotional wellness, and find clarity in their life’s purpose.
After relocating to Houston, Texas, Charlene embraced new opportunities to connect with her community, inspire others, and foster meaningful change. She believes in meeting clients where they are and guiding them toward growth, healing, and self-understanding.
Outside of her professional life, Charlene is a proud mother, wife, and avid traveler who finds joy in exploring new cultures and perspectives. Her mission is to help others recognize their worth, discover their resilience, and create lives filled with purpose and peace.
